I'm Matthew, an interior designer and architectural graduate student with a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design from the University of Alabama, currently pursuing my Master of Architecture. I've always believed that the best spaces don't just look good. They feel considered, they function intuitively, and they leave the people inside them better for it.
My work lives at the intersection of interior design and architecture, and over the past few years I've had the opportunity to bring that perspective to real projects across a range of contexts, from hotel renovations and landscape planning to furniture layouts and digital design libraries. Each one has sharpened how I think, communicate, and deliver for clients.
Outside of work and studios, I'm most at home outdoors, gardening, exploring native plants, and finding design inspiration in the natural world. That connection runs through my work in ways both obvious and subtle, and it's a big part of why sustainability and intentionality matter so much to me in every project I take on.
I'm currently taking on contract work alongside my graduate studies. If you're looking for a designer who brings both formal training and genuine field experience, I'd love to hear about your project.
Pristine Landscape:
I designed landscape plans from concept through client presentation, translating client vision into site-appropriate, buildable designs. Every plan was developed with both the client's goals and the realities of the site in mind.
Interior Consultants / IHG Hilton Hotels:
I was contracted to assist with updating and drafting floor plans and renovation documents for IHG Hilton hotel properties. Working within the scope of a major hospitality brand meant delivering accurate, professional documentation on a tight timeline.
English Village Lane Rugs:
As BIM Coordinator, I built out a digital asset library of custom symbols and components across CAD, Revit, and SketchUp. The result was a faster, more accurate product specification process for designers in the field.
OEC:
I supported the team with furniture layouts, presentation plans, and design documentation, keeping projects moving and clients confident through every phase.
